This is a poignant subject for me. The decimation of tusked animals continues despite the fact that the ivory trade has been illegal since the 1990 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. It is devastating and enrages me. My tusk box is whimsical, yes and purely imaginative - but it is also represents for me the absolute folly of the ivory trade. This is a double box, raku-fired, and measures 8 x 4.5 inches.
