Shown here with her baby. Generally loon babies ride on their mothers' backs, but this one has hopped off for a little paddle! The turn of the loon mother's head creates a nice movement in this sculpture.
The stripes are painted in wax resist with a lovely emerald neck and bright red watchful eyes. Wheel thrown, altered with handbuilt additions. Raku fired stoneware.
