The lid on this wheel thrown pot perfectly rounds this out the moon shape. I find myself drawn to sculpting and painting rabbits, and these wild hares dash around the side of the pot interspersed with white crackle circles that are designed to increase the liveliness of the running rabbits.
All the hares, including the one on top, are painted in topaz blue, but notice what the fire has done to color them with shades of copper and blue - and how beautifully they contrast with the white glaze of the circles and the beautiful blackened bare clay.
I named this with a chuckle for the play on words... because I love word play!
This pot is also painted with white crackle inside.
