Celebrating Whooping Cranes with this twice-fired carved moon pot! I am glad they are becoming more plentiful - they are such a remarkable-looking bird, and I have tried to capture that in this piece.
Heavily carved so the birds appear silhouetted in the carving. Unglazed inside to contrast the shiny raku glaze and the matte black of the clay.
