This is an exotically colored raku fired decorative pot with blue elephants carved and painted around the sides of it. A moon pot shape, it can be used as a luminary with a candle in it, or a sun-catcher. Light will dance in it, and deepen the beauty of the colors.
The rim is unglazed clay which has absorbed carbon, and is textured and dark, in contrast with the smooth painted glaze of the elephant design.
